Im planning to cancely mobileme at the end if September. And interestingly, the iPhone does not have mobileme in the dictionary so that's probably just endemic of the entire disconnect on this product.

well, i was working at apple this summer during the launch and i can tell you this: I went from being a happy employee to one who actually walked out during a shift. i never once recommended mobile me to a single customer despite being trained to do so...the reason? even though it discussed on a conceptual level, never did i get a chance to use the service for myself before being asked to sell it...Im sorry, but i am not going to try to sell a product i know little to nothing about....and then on top of that we were hearing from our customers that it didnt work...also, imagine this: the first time i touched the phones was when i was selling them...not even one hour was set aside for us to get familiar with them...

That's really interesting, the strict control they place over everything puts a lot of pressure on employees and puts them in a really bad position, especially when the products don't work.
A lot of learning common workarounds and fixes comes by just playing with the software, which is sorely missing from the Apple equation here.
